Creator Royalties
Creator royalties provide a sustainable monetization mechanism for artists, developers, and project builders on Cronos. By routing a portion of secondary market sales directly back to the project, royalties ensure creators can fund ongoing utility, community rewards, and continuous development.
Direct On-Chain Revenue
Royalties are set as a percentage of secondary trading volume. When an item from your collection is sold on Mintpad, our marketplace smart contracts automatically deduct the specified percentage from the sale price and route it directly to your project's designated recipient address.
How to Set or Update Royalties
- Access Creator Dashboard: Log into Mintpad using the wallet address that created or owns the collection's smart contract, and select your project.
- Configure Recipient: Navigate to the Creator Royalties settings and input a valid Cronos wallet or contract address where the royalty payouts should be sent.
- Set Percentage: Define your desired royalty percentage (up to 10.00% / 1000 basis points).
- Publish Changes: Click Save Settings to write the configuration to the registry. All future secondary trades will instantly apply these updated parameters.
Standards & Custom Enforcements
* ERC-2981 Native Support: If your NFT contract implements the official on-chain royalty standard (ERC-2981), Mintpad natively reads and respects those configurations automatically.
* Marketplace Registry Fallback: For contracts without ERC-2981, settings configured inside the Mintpad Creator Dashboard are safely stored and enforced at the marketplace level.
To update royalties, your connected wallet must hold the required contract permissions (such as OWNER or ADMIN roles). Standard users or non-owner wallets will be restricted from modifying project parameters.
