DinoBits: Hold. Hatch. Evolve.

DinoBits is a fully on-chain, evolving dynamic pixel art collection of 212 unique tokens on Cronos. This guide explains how the collection works and how to manage your DinoBit to complete its evolution.

The Core Evolution Mechanic

Every DinoBit is generated and rendered entirely by the Cronos blockchain. The artwork is not stored on a central server or IPFS; instead, the smart contracts draw the pixels dynamically in real-time.

DinoBits evolve based on the duration of continuous holding. The longer you hold your DinoBit in your wallet, the further it grows along its evolutionary path:

• Stage 0: Pristine Egg (0 to 7 days) — A symmetrical, animated pixel egg with ambient shadows.
• Stage 1: Cracked Egg (7 to 14 days) — A zigzag crack forms down the shell as the hatchling prepares to break free.
• Stage 2: Hatched Dino (14 to 30 days) — The egg hatches into one of four unique dinosaur species:
• T-Rex
• Triceratops
• Stegosaurus
• Pterodactyl
• Stage 3: Cyber Alpha Dino (30+ days) — The dinosaur reaches its final stage, gaining matrix-style code rain animations, scanlines, and unique idle movement animations. Evolution is permanently completed.

Evolution & Transfer Rules

To incentivize long-term ownership and diamond handing:

• Pre-Alpha Reset: Before reaching Cyber Alpha (under 30 days of holding), any standard transfer or secondary marketplace sale resets progress back to Stage 0 (Pristine Egg).
• Once Alpha, Always Alpha: Once a DinoBit reaches Cyber Alpha at 30 days, its evolution becomes permanently completed. Subsequent transfers and marketplace sales will never reset its stage or status.
• Off-chain listings are safe: Listing your DinoBit on the marketplace via gasless listing signatures does not reset your progress. The timer only resets on pre-Alpha transfers once the actual sale transaction executes on-chain.

Staking Exemption

You can deposit your DinoBit into whitelisted project staking pools without losing your progress. The contract is configured to recognize whitelisted staking addresses, ensuring that deposits and withdrawals bypass the holding reset anchor.
